Book Review : November 9 By Colleen Hoover
November 9
By Colleen Hoover
I heard
a lot of back and forth about November 9 on internet, so naturally I got my
copy of the book and just started reading without any expectations or biases,
and I kid you not when I say it is the best Colleen Hoover book I have read in
my opinion. Ben and Fallon have undeniable chemistry and the plot twist in the
book, oh my gosh. I was not expecting that at all. Okay now with the review.
November 9-Plot (official
summary)
Fallon meets Ben,
an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their
untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and
her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for
his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of
their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year.
Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or
fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon- and simultaneously his novel- be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?

November 9 : My views
As
I said above, I loved the novel in all aspects. This will contain SPOILERS so
scroll to the end paragraph for spoiler free final words.
Now, the story is
about two young adults who meet on November 9, the day Fallon decides to move
to New York from L.A. She was a former child actress but her career as an
actress comes to stop when she meets an accident and half of her body gets
burned which leaves scars.
Fallon meets Ben
when he pretends to be his boyfriend in front of her father to get her out of
an awkward situation. They later decides’ to hang out and things spice up
immediately. Ben is introduced to us as an aspiring writer, who after meeting
Fallon decides to use her as an inspiration.
They decide to
meet every year on the same date and at the same place they met for the first
for five years till Fallon becomes independent and turns 23. The book follows
story of all the November 9s they see each other after no contact for a whole
year.
Story gets really
exciting towards the end as the plot twist is something you won’t see coming.
Colleen did an
amazing job on this one. The leads are young and relatable for young readers.
It is a modern romance with a literary twist. I definitely recommended it to my
friends. It is worth a read, Hoover did what she does best and that is heart
break. You will thoroughly enjoy the book, as it gives both lead’s perspective.
The conclusion
arrives as it is a book about faith, self-confidence, support, love and
following your dreams.
