Sequel to IT ENDS WITH US, It Starts With Us is the aftermath of Lily and Atlas’s story. The novel is a roller coaster of emotions. It ends with us, originally didn’t have a sequel, until it blew up on TIKTOK and people wrote emails and signed petitions for a second book with Atlas. It starts with us is just like its title, it is beginning of Lily Bloom and Atlas Corrigan’s pending love story.

It Starts With Us: Plot

The book begins right where the last one ended. Lily is still working on her flower shop and her abusive ex husband is still a surgeon but now they are co-parenting Emerson, almost a year old. Their life starts to change when Lily bumps into Atlas, her first love. Their love rekindles. But even after divorce Lily isn’t exactly free. She fears her ex-husband, Ryle’s jealousy and resentments. Meanwhile, Atlas’s mother returns with a shocking news. Amidst of all the chaos, they steal the sweet romantic moments.

 

My views : It Starts With Us

The novel is good. We get to see Atlas and his life story and how things change for him personally. We see Lily, going through motherhood and juggling between her work and her personal time. Lily and Atlas have always been that right person wrong time thing. But they finally get to have what they deserved from the beginning.

I did complete the book in a single sitting, but it didn’t really show anything major like it did in It Ends With Us. It felt a little bland in that perspective. Lily was constantly afraid of Ryle finding out about her relationship with Atlas. Despite this, we do get to know Atlas better through his point of view.

Despite all that, the book will make you smile, cry and even race your heart at one point. It had lots of sweet moments between the main characters. The book also has humour. I would say, It Starts With Us was as light-hearted as It Ends With Us was dark.

We get the story and ending we deserved. The new side characters are a fun addition to the story, overall you will enjoy the novel.

Is It Starts With Us a happy ending?

It Starts With Us is love story of two young adults, Lily Bloom and Atlas Corrigan, who fell in love when they were just teenagers, but life had other plans for both of them.

They do not talk most of the time in It Ends With Us but It Starts With Us is purely about how they find each other back after so many hardships in life.

Spoiler alert! Atlas and Lily do get married at the end of the book and Atlas has the best vows prepared for his bride.
